The Last Two Weeks

Since I haven't posted in about two weeks, with the exception of yesterday, I have decided to do another post of "a week in the life of me"-although this one will cover about two weeks. I never really got in a full outfit post over the last two weeks, but there has been lots of pictures, here's a few.

My daughter's dance recital:

My little brother's college graduation:

Club night at Encore VIP: this is the last night I went out with one of my best friends before she moved literally all the way across the US.

Marvelous Monday on Tuesday

Although today is Tuesday, I'm doing my Marvelous Monday post today. I've been out of town and just got home today, so here it is. Yesterday's theme was to be inspired by each other-as in one of the other women who participate in Marvelous Monday. My challenge was to take inspiration from Sarah, over at The Ridiculous Sort. I'm not really sure how to verbalize Sarah's style, the best I can say is it is almost a mix of quirky, modern pieces paired with more old fashion staples: collard shirts, lots of A-line style dresses and skirts, etc. I'm not copying Sarah's style exactly, but trying to use common elements in her style/wardrobe, while still keeping it me.

I'm not really all that happy with these pictures, because I really look like crap. I was tired, have no makeup on, and my camera battery died after two shots.

Blazer: Maurices. Tank: Old Navy. Skirt: Walmart. Shoes: Payless. Necklace and Earrings: Icing. Leggings: Fashion Bug.

Be sure to check out the other ladies' posts for Inspired By. And just to put it out there, L at Goodbye, Hollywood got me.

Marvelous Monday in Metallic

Welcome back for another installment of Marvelous Monday. I kind of cheated since I wasn't sure if I would be going anywhere today, so these pictures are actually from Saturday when I took my daughter to her dance class. It's a good thing I did it that day too, because our heat streak in Western Washington has now ended and it's pouring down rain. This week's theme is metallic. Clearly the shoes and purse are both metallic, but the shirt actually is as well. This shirt has silver thread running vertically through it, despite the fact that it really doesn't show in these pictures. Don't forget the check out the other four blogs, links will be provided at the bottom.

Shirt: Fashion Bug. Skirt: Old Navy. Shoes: Target. Bag: Betsey Johnson. Necklace: Icing.

Not only is this skirt straight sized, I got it on the clearance rack for $6! The shoes were clearance as well, I believe they were under $15. I bought the purse for relatively cheap quite awhile back, but I got to say, it has probably one of the most stupid construction in a bag I've ever seen. The chain is connected to the top flap instead of the sides of the bag which causes it to pull open if you put anything more than a phone, small camera, and a set of car keys in it. Had I considered this aspect before purchasing it, I wouldn't of. Stupid I tell ya! Then again I also would never pay for one of these purses full price because the quality has NEVER been worth it in my opinion.

Check out the other blogs and happy Monday y'all!

Nature Inspired Marvelous Monday

This week's theme for Marvelous Monday was nature inspired. If you are unfamiliar with Marvelous Monday it is a fashion challenge between myself and 4 other bloggers. Our Philosophy for Marvelous Monday: Monday is nobody's favorite day of the week, but maybe its terrible reputation is a little undeserved. We're on a mission to make ours (and hopefully yours) a little less awful by dressing marvelously! The links to the other blogs will be provided below. When I think of nature inspired I automatically think of earth tones like browns, tans, olive greens, etc., and secondly animal print. However, when you really look around there are so many colors found in nature that I decided to take it a little more bright. I know last time I wore this dress I said it reminded me of the ocean, and it still does. So this weeks theme  of nature is inspired by the ocean.

Dress: Walmart. Shoes: Kmart. Necklace and Skull Bracelet: Icing. Stone Bracelet: Gift from Friend bought in Mexico. Gold Bangles: Target. Earrings: Old Navy.

My Week

I've been pretty busy this last week, so this is not going to really be an ootd, but more so "a preview of a week in the life of" ME!

After a night out at the casino

A day of shopping at the mall, and then the B & I. The B & I used to be this awesome place that has an arcade, carousel, pet shop, and lots of shopping. Back in the day they used to have quite the assortment of wild animals. By the time I was a kid they only had some monkeys and a Gorilla named Ivan who eventually was moved to zoo because of some major protesting by animal rights groups. He just passed away this last year.

Encore VIP

Seattle trip. Did the typical: Pike's Place Market, walking down to the Piers, Seattle Great Wheel, and Space Needle, as well as getting harassed by homeless people.

Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium.

I'm hoping to get in a trip to Portland and a camping trip in soon too. Stay tuned for Marvelous Monday!
