Random Cell Selfies

So much for posting once a week. Oh well, I did pretty well in January at least. The pictures today are just cell phone selfies from the last couple of days. A new outfit, new hair, and some new makeup. AHHH, life is good.

This picture was a total blooper. Right in front of the mirror was a huge fan. I was attempting to do a face-shot with the rear facing camera (since the quality of that one is better), yeah well, I ended up apparently taking a picture of the mirror with the front facing camera. I was in a locker room and right after I took this one, some women walked in, so not only did I not get the picture I wanted, but I didn't even get a full body shot. LOL such is life. Dress is from Ross. Even though you can't see them in the picture, I was wearing gray knee high boots and the necklace is three super cute owls encrusted in crystals.

Just because I felt cute.

The obligatory bathroom pic. Dress and Boots: Torrid. Leggings, Coat, and Necklace: Walmart. Earrings (in face pic): Icing

I just bought this palette. I'm pretty pleased with it. I went to Ulta to actually purchase the Lorac Gold Unzipped palette, but kept wrestling with myself about how much use I will get with it, and ended up buying Two Faced Chocolate Bar. While I do really love this one, It still doesn't compare to my Urban Decay Naked 3. That being said I am especially fond of the colors Creme Brulee
(2nd from left bottom row), Black Forest Truffle (2nd from right top row), the Gilded Ganache (1st top row), and the Amaretto (last on  right, middle row). Actually all the colors in here are pretty great with the exception of the Strawberry Bon Bon (3rd from right, middle row). This looks like a nice pink in the palette, but really doesn't translate great on the skin. Sometimes I would sum it up to being that maybe it's my skin tone, but I also tried it out on my daughter who is darker complected than myself and it really just comes out looking like a chalky white on both of us rather than pink.

Garnier Color Styler: Pink Pop Review

Two weeks ago I had dyed my hair. It was really not something that was planned, but as I mentioned before, I impulsively bought a bottle of Garnier Color Styler in Pop Pink. This normally retails for around $8, but I got mine for $3.50. It is supposed to be temporary and washes out in 2-3 washes. Unlike most dyes, this type coats your hair in a clay based pigment that you apply to dry hair and do not rinse afterwards. Once the dye dries, the color does not bleed or transfer onto anything. Even though it says it washes out after a few washes, mine has taken longer and that may be due to the ends of my hair being drier and damaged. While I do like the fact that it's easy to apply, very vibrant in color, and is only temporary with no transfer of product after the initial application, there are something that I do not like about it. One being that it is taking more that a few washes to come out of my hair, but more so than that is the fact that this stuff will temporarily change the texture of your hair. During the duration of having the product in, my hair gets tangled extremely easy. Really, it's more like matting than tangles and I have to constantly brush it in order for my hair to not look like a rat's nest. The areas with the pink seem to cling together and I can only figure that it is due to the clay base. I've also used a lot of oil based serums in my hair to try to prevent frizz, tangling, and to add some shine since this does dull the hair a bit.  Overall though, I would still recommend this as a quick, fun change with no commitment. Below I'm posting pictures from the last two weeks and how the color has faded.

First night.

Day 3 (the color of course is a bit off in this picture)
