Zombie Chic

Yesterday was my little brother's 21st birthday. Even though I had plans to go out with him, I certainly didn't make it that far. I worked all day and made it to dinner at least. We went to Bob's Burgers and Brews. The burger I got was pretty good, honey mustard chicken which I added cheddar and avocado onto. The outfit I wore I was pretty pleased with, but kind of wish I would of put a pair of black jeans with it instead of the velvet leggings. I'm a huge fan of horror movies, so of course I love Walking Dead. I found this Walking Dead shirt in the men's section at Walmart for $3! Men's shirts are shaped a bit different than most women's tees, and I always hate how they do the necklines. Since I only paid $3 for the tee I decided to hack off the neck and make it off the shoulder. Oh, and these boots are definitely my new love interest. I got them a couple of days ago from Target, I want to say I paid about $35 for them. They are relatively comfortable; I'm sure it'll get better once they are stretched out some. I got ridiculous amounts of compliments on them at work.  If it wasn't so hot out I think a leather coat would look cute with this, but that would of just made it unbearable in this heat.

California Vacation

This has definitely been a busy summer for me and of course the reason for the lack of posting. I finally went on vacation. My daughter and I left for California from August 1 until the 7. It was a very fun and exhausting trip. We did three days at Disneyland and California Adventure, one day at Universal Studios, one day at Knott's Berry Farm, one day at Legoland and Sea Life, and the last day we spent at Venice Beach (where I got bunt like a lobster) before taking off to the airport. We also visited the Hollywood Wax Museum, Ripley's Believe It or Not, and the Guinness Book of World Records. This was my daughters first time flying, and first time to any of these places. I've previously visited all of them except Legoland, which I will add was a bit of a disappointment to me. My feet we so tired and sore, but the trip was so worth it.

When going on theme park vacations, or any vacation really, I like to keep it relatively simple. I didn't pack anything real dressy since I knew we weren't going to any fancy dinners, cocktail hours, or clubs (obviously I have a five year old). I pretty much dressed for pure comfort and functionality. When I go on vacation we keep it busy. I'm spending a lot of money to fly somewhere, so I make sure to get my money's worth and see and do everything that time will allow. I've never really understood why people go on vacay and just spend the WHOLE time at a resort, personal taste I guess, those just aren't my type of trips though. I'm only including a couple of the outfits since these are the only pictures that show all the clothing.

I didn't buy a lot for myself while on vacation, got lots for daughter though and had a hell of a time trying to pack it all in the suitcase on the way home. I did buy myself a super cute Mini Mouse dress and Dia de los Muertos necklace. Hopefully I can get a post in soon for that one.

My daughter's Sally doll from Nightmare Before Christmas-she insisted I have it in the picture with me.

The top two pictures were taken at California Adventure. Shirt: Lane Bryant. Shorts, Necklace, Flip Flops: Walmart.

What I wore upon arriving to California and quickly changed out of because my ass was on fire! We stayed at the Pacific Inn in Anaheim. I paid about $45 a night (NO JOKE!), there's nothing particularly outstanding about the hotel, but I can't really knock it either, especially if you do like us and just sleep and bathe there. It's clean, the staff is friendly and you can't beat the price. Location wise isn't bad. It's about 5 minutes from Knott's and about 15 from Disneyland. Shirt: Kmart. Necklace: Old Navy.

At Universal Studios in front of the Saddle Ranch restaurant. Shirt: Kmart, Shorts: Walmart.

These were taken at Knott's Berry Farm. Shirt: Walmart, Pants: Fashion Bug. These were previously full length pants, but I got a hole towards the bottom and ended up hacking them off and resewing the seams.
