Tigress

This post is about two days old, but here it is anyways.

Shirt: Walmart Pants: Source of Wisdom from Torrid. Blazer: Torrid. Shoes: Fashion Bug Earring: walmart

I seen this shirt in the men's department at Walmart, and had to get it-I love tigers. The back has the tiger image as well, except the tiger is in a sort of snarl. I had my daughter take a pic, but was completely unhappy with it, so of course it will not be making its way to the blog. This shirt is 100% polyester and SOOOOO unbreathable, I will not be wearing this one on a hot day again.

Baroque

Last night was my little brother's 19th birthday. We went out for a family dinner, plus the girl he is interest in. It was a pretty good time. Afterwards we went to visits my Grandma again. Anyways, here's what I wore.

Dress: Torrid, Shoes: Brash from Payless, Earrings: Walmart

I love this dress, despite that fact that I hardly ever wear it. Last time was New Year's eve. It has a sort of Baroque/Brocade print, and is in my favorite color: Purple! The only down fall with it is the fact that it is very high in the cleavage department. I just discovered that it has pockets too, so that's kind of cool, especially since the pockets aren't super obvious. Last time I wore this, I styled it completely different; leggings, sparkly flats, open cardi with lace, black sequin belt, and cobra jewelry.

Geometric

This last week has been a rather crappy one. My Grandma has been in the hospital, so we (my family) have been up there everyday. Today I did manage to get some outfit pics in. My daughter is going to be 4 the end of this month, and it is kind of hard for children that age to just sit quiet in a hospital room. I took her out to the garden there so she could run around for a minute.

Dress from Fashion bug, Flip flops from Kmart, Sequin tank from Lane Bryant, Messenger bag from Target

My daughter dress is from Gymboree. They have got the cutest kids clothes, for girls at least-since I don't have any boys, I don't shop the boys section.

Lavender ruffles

Today being Friday, I took my daughter to gymnastics, and afterwards we went shopping with my mom for my brother's birthday. It was incredibly nice out today, so we hung outside for a bit, and then went to have dinner with my brother.

Beginning of the day before my tiredness kicked in.

My little buggy boo

So my daughter took these pictures after we got home. I look straight jacked up! LMFAO! Whatever though, at least I looked cute in the morning. So this dress is Merona from Target, I got it for something like $13 I want to say, about a month ago. I love the color, its purple, lavender, taupe, and a sort of maroonish-brown. Very feminine dress. Although it is a very summery looking dress, gotta say it was not a very cooling one as I found out today; the whole dress is lined with a relatively heavy material. The pattern is kind of cool though, at first it just looks like dots, but if you look close it almost has a reptile look. These booties are straight awesomeness. They are suede wedges by Fergalicious, my mom bought them for me, and I am in love. I just love suede shoes in general though.

RANT! Print/pattern clothing makes Fatties look Fatter

This will not be a traditional OOTD post, but rather a rant about the type of crap I see women, especially other large women, say about fashion "rules." I have many of the stores I shop at on my Facebook, so of course I end up seeing peoples opinions about clothes that are being posted. Here is one of the recent ones, and the catalyst of this post..."Prints aren't good For curvy ladies! Why do this!" Now this is something that always irritates me, it's kind of like the whole big girls shouldn't wear stripes.

This was the dress from Simply Be Fashion that the woman remarked on. I really don't understand why people think this. You could take this model, put her in the exact same dress that is in solid color, and guess what? She's not going to look any smaller. My personal feelings about it is if you don't like, DON'T BUY IT! I personally don't like bubble hems for myself, but hey I am not going to knock other people for liking or tell them that they shouldn't because of some misguided fashion crap that people actually believe. Here's yet another one.

Not that I personally like this dress, but of course this is one of the many that I have seen people rank on. Another Facebook quote on Fashion Bugs page: "Large prints make you look LARGE!" I call BS on that. I have lots of print, possibly verging on too much, and in all honesty, I look the same in prints and solids. It is about the shape and fit of your clothing that makes a person look bigger, not the print.

Just reviewing some of my pics of pattern/print clothing, and I like them, always will. And I look good. Hey, if some people want to limit themselves, be my guest, but I will not be one of them.

My daughter had gymnastics to go to yesterday morning, so I wore something to keep it simple since you have to participate with your child. Afterwards we had lunch with my brother at this new restaurant that was opened by a butcher shop, and they had the best ribs ever (that was my brothers order, I got a beef brisket sandwich, which was good too), and afterwards we met my friend for coffee.

Rose shirt: Torrid Pants: Source of Wisdom. Shoes: Fashion Bug Earrings: Alley Cat

I am not really sure what's going on with my hair, kind of looking Flock of Seagulls-esk, lol that's an over exaggeration, anyways...
This is by far one of my favorite shirts that I own, and actually my first purchase from Torrid-LOVE IT.

My Daughter

Here is another outfit that I wore quite a few days ago. I was going to do an OOTD post with it but wound up not getting any good pics, and was super exhausted by the time the day was over.

This dress is George, same as the blue one in my last post. I had originally bought the blue first. Then I was going to have mine and my daughter's pictures done, she had a sort of peachy dress, so I decided to just go back and by this one (I always color coordinate our clothes for professional pics). This shirt is Jaclyn Smith. I really like it, it's a nice flowy, light weight material, and has gold buttons that go nicely. However, first time washing it, on a light cycle mind you, the seeming on the outside panel where the buttons go frayed and now I have to figure out a way to sew it back without completely ruining the shirt. So irritating when stuff like that happens! So this is my daughter in the all pink, and the other little girl is my neighbor's granddaughter.

And just because it looked cool...This is Mount Rainier, not too far from my house, it looked absolutely gorgeous.

Berry Blue

This is actually from quite a few days ago, but I have been having issues with my internet. The dress is George. Blazer: Torrid-still available here. I have never been a huge fan of stripes, but I always have one or two striped pieces. Recently it was repeated to me that someone, another big girl, was talking crap that I am fat and don't I know that fat girls shouldn't wear stripes. She was referencing a picture from 4 years ago when I was 8 months pregnant with my daughter (featured below). At first I was irritated, but then I just had to laugh it off and consider the source. But it still gets me sometimes when I hear people come up with things like that. Wearing stripes or large or small prints does not make people look fatter; it is about the fit of your clothes and how YOU wear them.
